Wedding Harpist- The General Approach
Although each wedding is as unique and special as the bride and groom themselves...
I find that most weddings fit into my basic wedding package with an average cost of $350.
My basic wedding package includes:
- Unlimited telephone and e-mail consultation
- Your choice of music for a one hour ceremony including
- A 20-30 minute prelude
- All wedding processionals
- Special music to accompany a unity candle or sand ceremony
- A recessional
- 5-10 minutes of postlude as your guests file out of the ceremony space
- Travel up to 50 miles from Ann Arbor
For a slight additional cost I am happy to provide:
- An in person consultation at my home
- Additional time for a longer ceremony (for example: a full Catholic Mass)
- Travel more than 50 miles from Ann Arbor
- Additional musicians including the following combinations:
- Flute and harp
- Violin and harp
- Cello and harp
A few additional details:
- I arrive 1 hour before I am scheduled to play in order to get set up and have time to talk with your officiant and/or wedding planner.
- I do not usually attend the wedding rehearsal. I find that this is more for you and your wedding party to practice your moves.
- I play a gold Lyon and Healy style 22 semi-grand harp. It was built in Chicago in 1930 and refurbished in 1992.
- In more than 30 years working as a professional harpist I have never missed a wedding or other event that I agreed to play.
- I am happy to take a special request at least 2 weeks before your wedding as long as suitable sheet music is available for the song.
- If you plan to have a friend or family member sing at your wedding I can often accompany them (depending on the song).
- I bring all of the equipment that I require. The only thing that you need to provide is a space that is at least 4' X 4' with a dry, flat surface.
- The sound box of the harp provides natural amplification that helps the sound to carry approximately as well as a concert grand piano. Additional amplification is rarely needed.
- I do ask for a deposit to reserve your wedding date. The balance is due at least one week before your wedding.
